While Bear Erich likes to enjoy a bath in almost every season of the year, bear Mark only likes to splash around in the water when it is really hot and Brumca prefers to have a relaxing bath when nobody is around her.

on a hot summer day at the BEAR SANCTUARY Arbesbach

It’s the first summer swim ever for bear Mark, and he looks as happy as can be! It’s been over a year since Mark’s arrival at BEAR SANCTUARY Arbesbach we are overwhelmed with his progress since he’s been under our care. Since spring, Mark has been much more active and loves exploring his enrichment, especially those with added treats. One of his favourites is a food chain containing cucumber and watermelon. He also loves all kinds of nuts, especially peeled walnuts.

As one can see, bears enjoy splashing around in the pond. Therefore in every outdoor enclosure the bears have a pond. Apart from bathing fun, the bears also can get rid of annoying parasites.
